What kind of woods do you use for your stretcher frames & other products?

We use only pure North American basswood, all grown and milled in the northeast U.S. and southeast Canada. It is the finest, cleanest and most stable wood available for stretcher frames & art panels. It is re-forested and ecologically sustainable. We use the finest clear poplar & other hard woods for our floater frames. We use furniture grade plywood for our panels. We will not use any rainforest or non-sustainable woods of any kind for any reason. So don't ask us!

Where are you located?

We are in the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York, USA. We have a beautiful 6500 sq. ft shop that overlooks the New York City skyline and the East River. Our physical address is: 63 Flushing Ave., Building 280, Studio 501, Brooklyn, NY. 11205.

What are your hours?

We are open 8:30-5:30, Monday-Friday (closed from 1-2 each day for lunch). 

Do you accept walk-ins?

We are not a walk-in retail establishment so please call or email ahead to make an appointment to visit.

How do I place an order?

Call, email, fax...they all work. Email is best as it provides us with your actual dimensions, sizes, amounts, etc. and leaves less room for error.

We then email a fully detailed invoice for you to for full confirmation & payment prior to commencement of your order.

What is your standard turnaround time?

We have no "standard" as we are a completely custom operation, which means it depends upon the scale & details of each order, along with our current production schedule at the time. It can be from 7-12 business days on average, but up to 21 business days during art fair season and depending upon all above mentioned specifics.

Do you deliver and/or ship?

We do both! Our trucks deliver to the tri-state area weekly, and we can box/crate and ship both domestically and internationally via common carrier (UPS, Fedex, freight shippers).

How do you wrap/box/crate for delivery or shipping?

All orders delivered by Barronarts' trucks are safely protected by either plastic & cardboard corners or both. UPS & freight shipments are appropriately packed with adequate packing for safe shipping. Large shipments requiring custom crating and/or packing are fully priced prior to order confirmation so you know what the whole job will cost. If additional packing is required at any time, we can provide it for additional cost.

Can I pick up my order?

Sure! Many clients love to come by our studio to pick up, see what we are working on, check out new products or to just have a chat. All pickups must be arranged in advance so that an entry pass can be emailed, allowing entrance into the Brooklyn Navy Yard and our building.

What payment options do you accept?

Our Quickbooks cloud invoicing system accepts safe & secure payment via all standard methods: credit cards, direct bank transfer, ApplePay, etc. we also accept checks, but this takes longer. All invoices are emailed and your order is not confirmed in our system until paid in full to confirm.

Do you charge sales tax?

Well, we don't, but New York State does! We just collect it for them for any orders with billing and/or shipping address in New York State. If you are tax exempt or have a resale certificate, we will need this information to omit sales tax. All out of state orders are also not subject to NY sales tax.

Do you have rush services?

Sure! We offer this at additional cost when we have space in our production calendar.  We try to be the go-to problem solvers for all of our clients whenever we can. Just ask!

What’s your return/exchange policy?

Barronarts offers an unmatched 30-day guarantee on all of our products, except custom stretching & priming (you can't ask for a refund if your canvas isn't exactly as tight as you want it, or the gesso is not quite as smooth as you want it, for example). If for any reason due to our craftsmanship you are not satisfied, we will attempt to repair or fix the problem first. If it cannot be fixed, we will replace it at our expense. This does not include transportation costs. Transportation charges additional after 5 days. We cannot guarantee any material provided by a client.
